* CALL FOR S.T.E.A.M.
FAIR VOLUNTEERS

It takes a village to prepare and staff events like S.T.E.A.M. Fair and May 20 is no exception. Please sign up to volunteer for an hour or two to ensure that our PTA exhibits are adequately staffed. As a thank you for your time, volunteers receive free entry to the fair. Not quite minimum wage, but at a $10 value, it’s not too bad!

There are opportunities to help with tickets sales, food, crafting, gardening, owl pellet exploration, fun physics activities, even airplane launching!

We need 15-20 volunteers per hour from 11am – 4pm to make this year’s STEAM Fair run smoothly. More specifically, we have 100 one-hour slots we need to fill and our small committee cannot do it alone. In a school of ~700 families, we can easily make this happen. Right? Right!

Shifts are in one-hour increments but we highly encourage you to sign-up for more than one shift, if you can. Your kids will be engaged and entertained exploring all the activities at the fair while you manage your shift. Better yet, get them to help you out for a bit too!

The school year is almost over. If you haven’t yet helped out at an event this year, this is your chance. There’s no better way to feel part of this great community and meet new families. If you’ve already helped out this year and/or are one of our families that always helps out, we appreciate you and hope to see you there too! Pick an area and sign up!

Contact the committee at ps10steam@gmail.com with any questions.

6:30 Workshop (Limited to 50 parents) SET YOUR CHILDREN UP FOR SUCCESS: Guide your Child toward a Growth Mindset

This workshop is an essential for all parents/caregivers!

Every adult wants their child to feel confident, be resilient, and do well in school. However, most of us have heard our kids say things like ‘I can’t do this!”, “I give up”, or  “I hate math” (or another subject)!
 This fun and practical workshop introduces you to Growth Mindset, an attitude toward learning that research shows fosters confidence, academic success and well-being. You’ll learn concrete, ready-to-use strategies, form a network with other parents/caregivers, and gain access to ongoing online resources.
