Our Mission

P.S. 10 offers our children a high quality, standards-based and inclusive education in a diverse and barrier-free environment. We provide thoughtful and rigorous instruction
which enables children to become inquisitive, lifelong learners.

Our dedicated and expertly trained staff strives to help each child reach his/her full potential in literacy, mathematics, science, technology and the arts. We promote critical and analytical thinking that encourages individual and collaborative problem solving. We also set clear expectations based upon a rigorous academic curriculum, which allows students to create authentic work which meets and exceeds the standards.

We honor and model hard work, cooperation, effort, kindness, honesty, responsibility, tolerance and integrity of character, all of which create a vibrant atmosphere for children to grow, flourish and appreciate one another.

P.S. 10 is a public elementary school serving grades PreK-5.

What makes us unique?
Our Magnet Grant lives on through not one, but two state-of-the- art Science Labs as well as our modern wireless Mac computer lab. Using the workshop model, students explore hands on inquiry based learning. Architectural concepts, Inventors workshop, and Family Science are among fields of study students regularly participate in.

Grant Writing
With Arts grants through the Empire State Arts Partnership, and LLSN totaling one million dollars, all students are involved in Creating Original Opera with staff, and professional development provided By the New York Metropolitan Opera.

Arts Enrichment
Through Collaborations with Studio in the School and Arts Connection as well as a full time staff art teacher, students have full access to an excellent visual arts education. Our Kindergarten Academy introduces blossoming minds to technology, science, music, visual and theatrical arts.

Library
All students and their families have access to our prestigious Robin Hood Foundation Library which opened just over 3 years ago. You will find our library to be one of the best, if not the best library you have ever seen in a community elementary school setting. It offers a warm and ultra modern environment for students to explore their world through the love of books and reading. Our library also has computers for students to research, as well as a state- of- the- art ‘Smart Board’ used to create an interactive computer classroom setting.
