PTA Afterschool

WINTER Session 2012

The Winter Session will begin on Tuesday, January 3 for all grades. It will run from 3pm to 6pm with daily activities including: dance, arts and crafts, playground games and board games.
All outstanding fees must be paid prior to the start of the program in Jan. 2012.

Important Dates

Online Sign-Up period for Winter 2012
8:00am, Tuesday, December 6 - 12 Noon, Friday December 9

Winter Session: Tuesday, Jan. 3 - Friday, March 30, 2012

There is no PTA Afterschool on school holidays or 1/2 days.

To sign-up for Afterschool Online

  1. Fill out all necessary forms (see important forms below)
  2. Write us a check for the $45 one time registration fee and the specific session fee. All fees must be paid before your child can attend the program.
  3. Sign-up online from 8am Tuesday Dec. 6 - 12 noon, Friday Dec. 9 OR come to the PTA room on Tueday Dec 6 from 8-9 and we will assist you.

Daily Schedule & Pick-up times

Our Program runs from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm each weekday. At 3:00 pm your child’s classroom teacher will escort children attending the PTA Afterschool program to the cafeteria where they will be directed to tables for a light snack (provided by parents). Tables are divided by grade level and enrichment class. Enrichment classes run from 3:30 to 4:30 pm. At 5:30 pm all groups begin to assemble in the auditorium for dismissal. Read all the RULES & PROCEDURES, pages 1-3.

There is no PTA Afterschool on school holidays or 1/2 days.

Freelancers Option

Fill out all registration forms, pay the yearly registration fee and plan on giving us 24 hours notice via e-mail or telephone.

Our Philosophy: PTA Afterschool

One of the biggest things the P.S.10 PTA does is oversee the PTA Afterschool Program. This is a PTA-run, parent-developed program providing service to families who need care beyond the regular school day. The 2011-12 is our third year running this program. It is a massive undertaking for the PTA and we welcome parents’ input and involvement. Our goal is to give our students an opportunity to learn a craft, develop a talent or enjoy a hobby in the safe, nurturing environment of our P.S.10 community. Students are separated into age appropriate groups. All our students are in the continuous care of P.S.10 teachers, co-teachers or outside teaching artists.
