PTA Mission

We are an all-volunteer group of parents & guardians that works collaboratively to support the school community. All parents and caregivers of P.S.10 students, along with the teachers and school staff are automatically members of the PTA and have a voice in decision-making.

What does the PTA do?

Our activities fall into 3 main categories: PTA Afterschool, fund-raising and in-school enrichment. Every event we do is 100% volunteer and we welcome your help. Last year we raised close to $150,000 (all from parent donations!) which we donated back to the school. We spent $35,000 to bring the Metropolitan Opera Guild to put teaching artists into each classroom. We spent $22,000 to purchase the new (TERC) math materials for grades K-2. We spent $100 for classroom supplies for each classroom and voted to increase that to $200 this year. We bought a composter for food waste in the cafeteria. And, we intitiated & staffed the salad bar and much, much more. Please come to a PTA meeting to see what are plans are for the upcoming year and to figure out how you can contribute. We also created and ran the PTA Afterschool program an now have an average of 100 children a day. 2011-12 will be our third year running this program. It is a massive undertaking for the PTA and we welcome parents’ input and involvement. Our goal is to give our students an opportunity to learn a craft, develop a talent or enjoy a hobby in the safe, nurturing environment of our P.S.10 community. Click here for more information.
