The P.S. 10 PTA is a motivated, diverse, and accomplished parent body dedicated to and focused on helping P.S. 10 maintain an inclusive and supportive school community. Our Prime Directive is ENHANCING OUR CHILDREN’S EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE. The PTA is comprised of parent volunteers who serve as officers on the PTA Executive Board, Class Parents, chairpersons and members of many different committees, and most importantly, EVERY parent in the school who participates in the events throughout the year. Our volunteers work together with the administration and the entire parent body to produce these events and meetings throughout the school year.
The P.S. 10 PTA sponsors school-wide events that include: Tenstock, our benefit auction, P.S. 10 Rocks, Harvest Day, the P.S. 10 Afterschool and so much more. Our Green and Health Plus committees support our overall community wellbeing, and the Events, Recess, Development, and Budget committees round things out.
We invite everyone to join us in planning and enjoying the wide array of events and committees that exist to make our children’s school experience unique and special at our school, P.S. 10. Your P.S. 10 PTA offers a wide range of opportunities for all levels of participation and invites you to find one that suits your skills, interests and availability. When you are interested in learning more about how you can get involved, please contact us at email@example.com or by contacting any individual member of the Board. The PTA meets monthly on the third Thursday, alternating between evening and mornings meetings. Please see the school calendar for up-to-date meeting information.
Voting takes place at our monthly meetings, where we discuss school business, upcoming events and activities, as well as hear from the Principal. This is where we decide how to spend PTA funds. All parents and new ideas are welcome. To make it easier for parents, the PTA provides free childcare and pizza and for kids in K and up! The meeting dates are in the online school calendar.
The PTA also has a monthly Executive Board meeting before each general meeting to set the agenda and discuss fundraisers and expenditures. These meetings are open to the public. All parents, staff members and new ideas are welcome. The meetings are generally (but not exclusively) at 8am on the second Wednesday of each month. Check the online calendar for dates.
