Want to learn more about the PTA and find out how to get involved? We want to meet you! Immediately after the September 17 Parent/Teacher Orientation (details coming soon!), stop by the PTA Committee Fair in the cafeteria. We’ll have parent representatives from each committee available to talk about the different programs and events we run. Refreshments will be served.

 

Thurs., September 20, 8:30am, Auditorium | General PTA Meeting

Join us after morning drop-off for our first general PTA meeting of the year! We’ll be discussing upcoming events, hearing a report from Principal Scott, and approving the updated budget. We are also looking for parents to join the Executive Board.  We need a Kindergarten Liaison, Parent Liason, and an Extended Day Chairs, come to the meeting for more information.  If you’re unable to attend, watch on Facebook Live by visiting our Facebook page.

 

Sun., September 23, 1pm | Yankees Game Fundraiser – LAST CHANCE TO PURCHASE TICKETS

Last Chance to purchase tickets!  Come Out & Represent PS10 while enjoying a baseball game, peanuts and Cracker Jacks.  Join other PS10 Families to celebrate back to school while watching the New York Yankees play against the Baltimore Orioles.  Tickets are available online here, purchase them today.  We have seats in the third base section 232A rows 12-15.  Tickets are limited.

 

Sat., September 29, 6:15pm | Fall Progressive Dinner – PURCHASE TICKETS NOW

Buy tickets for an adults-only dinner that travels from house to house, from front-porch cocktails to backyard BBQ. This is a wonderful way to meet other PS 10 parents while supporting the PTA.  WE have limited tickets available. Fri., October 5, 8:30am|Parents as Learning Partners

Friday is the kick off for PS10’s Parents as Learning Partners, aka First Fridays. On the First Friday of every month, from 8:40-9:30am, parents are invited into their child’s classroom to participate in a special project.  Immediately following at 9:30am, in the Cafeteria, is PS10’s Parent Coffee, an informal discussion (following each First Friday) on various topics discussed by school officials.

SAVE THE DATE for our first big event of the school year. It’s a fun community event with bounce houses, live music, games, crafts, face painting, food, a chili cook-off and more!

 

Fri., November 2, -11pm | Annual Auction Gala

SAVE THE DATE for PS10’s annual auction and gala fundraiser, ISLAND DREAMS! We’re thrilled to announce a new location and fun new format for this year’s event. Tickets will go on sale soon, but in the meantime, mark your calendar for floral prints, live reggae, delicious Caribbean food… and of course, rum punch!

Auction & Tenstock Planning & Volunteers – HELP NEEDED

Auction & Tenstock planning has begun and we need parent involvement to make these two wonderful events a success.  Please consider volunteering your time at the event or join the Committee on Konstella.  Hear more about both events as the Committee Fair.  We need your help!  Tenstock will be on October 13th and the Gala Auction is scheduled for Nov. 2nd

 

New During School Chess Program

The PTA is now bringing Chess to the classrooms for Kindergarten through third grade.

This year we will also be offering a NEW after school Chess Club and Team, organized by the same group teaching chess in the classrooms.  Chess Club and Team will be on Wednesday’s, starting September 26th! Everyone can join! You can register now at PS10chess.com!

PS10 Breast Cancer Walk

The Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk in Brooklyn is Sunday, October 21, 2018. It will be at Coney Island Boardwalk in MCU Park starting at 10:00 am. To help us reach our goal this year, we will be selling treats and other items (ranging from $1.00 to $5.00) beginning Monday, Sept. 17, 2018 (Curriculum Night).  The PS 10 lunchtime fundraising will take place on Wednesdays beginning Wednesday, September 26, 2018 during the lunch periods (11:15 am – 12:45 pm) in the back of the PS 10 Cafeteria. Please help us by allowing your child to make a purchase, by making an online donation and/or by joining our walk.
