Fri., October 5, 8:30am|Parents as Learning Partners

In two Friday’s is the kick-of PS10’s Parents as Learning Partners, aka First Fridays. On the First Friday of every month, from 8:40-9:30am, parents are invited into their child’s classroom to participate in a special project. Immediately following each First Friday, at 9:30am in the Cafeteria, join PS10’s Parent Coffee, an informal discussion on various topics by school officials.

SAVE THE DATE for our first big event of the school year. It’s a fun community gathering with bounce houses, live music, games, crafts, face painting, food, a chili cook-off and more!

 

Fri., November 2, 7?-11pm | Annual Auction Gala

SAVE THE DATE for PS10’s annual auction and gala fundraiser, ISLAND DREAMS! We’re thrilled to announce a new location and fun new format for this year’s event. Tickets will go on sale soon, but in the meantime, mark your calendar for floral prints, live reggae, delicious Caribbean food… and of course, rum punch!

Extended Day Fall 2018 Classes Announced this Week

Registration has closed for the Fall 2018 Session.  Families will be informed of class selections this week through their Extended Day account.  Please ensure that the email address in your account is current.  All outstanding balances must be paid in order to enroll in this session. If your account is not current, your child will be placed on the wait-list for classes selected unless otherwise discussed with the Extended Day Team. Classes begin on Monday, October 1st.

 

Auction & Tenstock Planning & Volunteers – HELP NEEDED

Auction & Tenstock planning has begun and we need parent involvement to make these two wonderful events a success. Please consider volunteering your time at the event or joining the Committee on Konstella. We need your help! Tenstock will be on October 13th and the Gala Auction is scheduled for Nov. 2nd.

 

New Chess in the Classrooms Program

The PTA is now bringing Chess to the classrooms for Kindergarten through third grade. This year we will also be offering a NEW afterschool Chess Club and Team, organized by the same group teaching in the classrooms. Chess Club and Team will meet on Wednesdays, starting September 26th! Everyone can join! Register anytime at PS10chess.com!

PS10 Breast Cancer Walk

The Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk in Brooklyn is Sunday, October 21, 2018. It will be at Coney Island Boardwalk in MCU Park starting at 10am. To help us reach our goal this year, we will be selling treats and other items (ranging from $1 to $5). The PS 10 lunchtime fundraising will take place on Wednesdays beginning on September 26, 2018 during the lunch periods (11:15am–12:45pm) in the back of the PS 10 Cafeteria. Please help us by allowing your child to make a purchase, by making an online donation and/or by joining our walk.
