Back to School 20-21

Re-Opening Message

A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.” – LATIN PROVERB

PS 10 staff and families will play a critical role in maintaining the good health of our community. Adhering to our health protocols, which include wearing masks when leaving your house, restricting your non-essential travel, and clear communication with the School, will all go a long way to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our community and give us our best chance to have in-person classes. We will continue to take our lead from CDC, NYS, NYC and the DOE which provide us with the most up-to-date and science-based information.

For hybrid student families, keeping your children home if/when they are sick will be the most important protocol to follow to help prevent an outbreak at School. Likewise, we strongly discourage non-essential travel throughout the academic year to areas that are at a high level of risk for infection. If such travel is unavoidable for you and/or your child, we ask that you follow CDC guidelines for self-quarantining (currently 14 days) and that affected students attend classes remotely until all of the conditions for quarantine are met.

Our success in opening the School and staying open relies on all of us to each do our part to keep our PS 10 community safe and healthy. Despite all of our best efforts, we should expect that people in our PS 10 community will test positive, exhibit symptoms, or be exposed to someone who is COVID-19-positive at some point. With our protocols in place, quick and efficient communication across all areas of the School, and the cooperation of each member of our School community, we will be well-prepared for any contingency.
