About K280

K280: The School of Journeys, is PS10’s Universal Pre-K program led by Principal Laura Scott and her dedicated staff of administrators and teachers trained in meeting the needs of our community’s newest students! The program focuses on creating a caring, diverse and inquisitive first-school environment for District 15 four-year-olds.

The program’s emphasis on inquiry based learning allows for daily explorations of art, science, literature, movement and music in a fun and age appropriate setting. Parents are regularly invited to participate in classroom and school wide activities and are encouraged to help build community and raise funds for enrichment activities via the K280 PTA, a standing committee of the PS10 PTA, a registered 501(c)3 charity.

K280 Family Giving Campaign

Over the past few years K280 has grown from 120 students to more than 400. The need to support our teachers and students has never been greater, and we need your support to ensure that we continue to cultivate resources and unique opportunities for our children!

Our goal is to raise a minimum of $25,000 this school year–an average donation/collection of about $50 per family – all of which would be spent this school year on materials, equipment, enrichment activities and programs, and a legacy gift that we’ll leave for the 2018-2019 class.

Because the K280 Parent Committee is a standing committee of the PS10 PTA, a registered 501(c)3 charity, all contributions are 100% tax deductible. Please give whatever makes sense for your family, but it is our hope that all families will participate. We also ask that you share word of our campaign with friends and family that may be interested in supporting the school in lieu of other traditional fundraisers. No contribution is too small or too large, and no family is required to give.

Thanks, as always for your support of our K280 community!
