Pre-K After School
Welcome to After School at K280
Welcome to the K280 after school provider portal. Please look at the eight providers we offer with our community partners. There are currently four providers that are onsite for this school year and in 2020-2021. Kids Orbit
We are warm and welcoming, providing children with a family-like atmosphere for their after school hours. We offer the kind of flexibility that our families need. We supervise homework and offer a variety of enrichment activities ranging from yoga and sports to art, music and drama. We sit quietly and read and draw. We play board games with our friends. We laugh and have a lot of fun.

A Play Date Everyday
A PlayDate EveryDay is a program designed specifically for prek children. We provide a unique, safe, highly supervised, and caring experience for these very young children. The focus of our program is "friendship fostering," constructively guiding the natural process of making friends, being a friend, and learning teamwork. We include outdoor play, and we focus on fun in a relaxed, no tech environment.

Chess at Three
Chess At Three tells stories that transform the chess pieces into a memorable cast of quirky characters that help children understand how the chess pieces move. Every Chess At Three lesson has a fun, interactive story that introduces children to important themes that go far beyond chess. Chess At Three students learn about sportsmanship, grit, and math, all through stories.
Chess at Three has teamed up with K280 to bring the fun and stories of our unique chess curriculum to your children. Join us each week as we meet silly characters, tell silly stories and learn chess through play! We offer five chess clubs each week for your scheduling convenience. Each chess club will meet on the same day through the first semester so choose your day and join us each week*.
Clubs meet each day from 3:00pm-4:30pm. The cost of the class is $30 per lesson. Specific club dates and cost of each club based on the number of meetings per semester are included in the links below.
*Please note: The Chess at Three curriculum is designed to run once a week per student, so while students are welcome to attend more than once a week, this would mean hearing repeated lessons.
If you have questions or would like more information, please contact Alex Thompson, Director of Partnerships for Chess At Three at: alex.thompson@chessat3.com
The Tiny Scientist
The Tiny Scientist offers young scientists a multidisciplinary chance to build fine motor skills, discuss observations and use their senses like a scientist! In this special class, scientists become naturalists as we explore animal tracks, figure out how fast snails can race and take a peak at tiny turtles. How do polar bears stay warm? What do owls eat for breakfast? How do trees breathe? We'll answer all these questions and more as we dive into the natural world around us.

Brookyln Nature Days
Join us outside after school! Our classes allow the kids the freedom to actively learn, while regularly immersing themselves in nature in the heart of Brooklyn. Using the seasons, plants, and animals as inspiration, and provided with simple tools and found and recycled materials, the kids are invited to lead the way climbing, creating, singing, digging, painting, and connecting with nature as a backdrop.
