D15 Diversity Plan: Public Workshop #1

The District 15 Diversity initiative is a community based plan led by the DOE as part of the Equity and Excellence for All Initiative. This initiative is aimed at increasing diversity in middle schools in District 15. It’s comprised of a Working Group which includes stakeholders from across District 15 whose goal is to guide the planning process and to hold the planning process accountable to ensure inclusiveness. Part of ensuring inclusiveness is making sure the public has a voice in the process. To allow for this there will be a series of 4 Public Workshops with the first occurring on Tuesday, February 13th at Sunset Park High School from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The goal of the initial workshop is to formally introduce the D15 Diversity Initiative to the public and identify key community issues relating to diversity. It is strongly encouraged that you attend this workshop and have your voice heard. It is the input from the public that will serve as the main catalyst for subsequent findings and recommendations.
